II. The aim of the game is to get rid of all of the cards in hand before the other players and accumulate more points.

III. Stages of the game

The game consists of two stages: A- bidding and B-display.
A. Following the auction, the type and value of display are established.
The types of display are: Sarabanda (S) Glissando (G), Parada (P), Muzicando (M).  The values are from 1 to 4. The ascending biddings are: 1S, 1G, 1L, 1M, 2B, 2G, 2P, 2M, 3S, 3G, 3P, 3M, 4S, 4G, 4P, 4T. The biddings will be made only in ascending order.
B. The winning display is conducted under the rules described below.

The participants form two teams,  arranged on two axes: N-S and E-W.
The first player mixes the card deck and gives each participant a card in a clockwise direction, face down, until finishing the deck, each player having 14 cards .
After analyzing the cards in hand, the first served player bids. For this purpose the order of ascending display’s value shall be taken into account: Sarabanda (S) Glissando (G), Parada (P), Muzicando (M).
The bidding involves setting a game level and selected display or „pass” (when the bid is refused).
The auction stops when three consecutive players say „pass” after the announcement of one of the participants,  thus making the last bid display and value winners.
If there are four consecutive „passes”, the first served player has to bid a display type.
The team who won the auction opens displaying with the player that announced first  this type of display during the bidding.
The team who won the bidding is considered the winner if,  after displaying, one of the partners comes first (gets ridd of all the cards in hand first). Displaying continues until establishing the last ranked.
The team that accumulates the most points over the course of at least four displays wins.

Failure to respect the game obligations leads to the current display’s annulement and a 12 points penalty for the team of the offending player.

IV. Cards with special properties

– cards marked with ”Do” are cards for opening the Sarabande and Muzicando display;
– cards marked with a musical note and oval are opening cards for Parade and Glissando displays;
– cards marked with # (sharp) block , for a turn, the following  player who has displayed ;
– cards marked with ♮ (natural) block, for a turn, the next player and the previous one which were displaying;
– cards marked with ♭ (flat) block,  for a turn, the previous player who has displayed
– cards marked with pauza (rest) lead to blocking all players, giving  the player who has made the deposit the right to perform all the possible deposits required by the game, including the ones marked with sharp, flat and natural.
Blocking has an effect on all the participants at play, regardless of their axis, it only lasts a turn and it is not cumulative.
When the card marked with (rest), is placed as the last card game, the right to deposit any other card is transferred to the team partner
Players are automatically unlocked at the next card placement or „pass” of the player in line.

V. Blocking cards and display conditions

For Sarabande and Glissando, the cards marked with sharp, flat,  rest and  natural may be placed over any card that has their color, provided that this card has all four sides occupied.

VIII. Calculating  the score

The score is made up by the team’s accumulated points during a game and is calculated for each display separately. A complete game has at least four displays ( awarded and validated)The final score is the sum of points accumulated by each team at the end of the number of games originally agreed upon.
The display score is calculated as such:
1. Each team accumulates the corresponding points for the place in the chart of each player.
2a. The team who has won and achieved the contract receives additional points corresponding to the level of bidding and its display value.
2b. The team that won the contract and has not achieved it, is penalized with the corresponding  points for the level of bidding and its display value.
3. The failure of the last player to get rid of all the cards in hand and lead to losing the ranking point ( losing IVth  place = 1 point).

X. Individual game version (with 2 to 8 players for a deck of cards)

Placing the participants at the game  table
From the deck of cards,a number of cards equal to the number of players (from two to eight participants) is chosen, with a different note value, in ascending order, starting with ”Do”. If there are eight players, the card depicting Guido D’Arezzo will be also used.This particular set of cards is mixed and divided to each player, face down, a card each, in clockwise direction. Players sit at the table in the order given by the notation of the cards: Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si. If there are eight players the one who has the card „Guido d’Arezzo” sits at the desired place.

How to Play
The first round is started by the player who has the card „Do”. He mixes and splits seven cards for each player, one by one, face down, starting with the player to his left. If there are less than eight players, the remaining playing cards are put in a pack and placed on the table, face down.
The player to the left of the one who split the cards makes the first choice, any of the four types of display. This player will open displaying.
During the course of displays, the players who say „pass” must take o card from the deck on the table. When the deck is finished, the declaration of „pass” entitles the next player to place a card.
Finishing the deck of cards or its absence from the table makes displaying the cards required by the game a must.
Suggestion: games of four or eight participants allow the distribution of all cards in equal numbers. In these cases a game with bidding can be applied and calculating the corresponding points is made possible.
Failure to respect the game obligations leads to the annulment of the current display and an 11 points penalty for the offending player.
The following rounds are conducted as follows: the player who made the previous choice mixes and splits the cards, the game is carried out until the number of rounds decided upon initially is finished.
A complete game is made up of a number of displays that is a multiple of the number of participants.
The winner of a display is that player who places down all the cards in hand. Displaying continues until establishing the last ranked player.
The winner of a complete  game is the one who accumulated the most points in the table’s total.

Calculating the score
Each player’s points are calculated as such : the points obtained in the chart are added to the value of the chosen display
The player placed last gets one point, the penultimate receives two points and so on, the player ranked first receive a number of points equal to the number of participants.
Failure of last player to place down all the cards in hand leads to losing the rank point (losing the value of the last place = 1 point).
